Avoid the chemicals in conventional home cleaning products by switching to all-natural cleaners.

Natural home cleaning products can save money and take a smaller toll on the environment. A family can protect their indoor environment by choosing all-natural cleaning products that won’t pollute the air or leave a chemical residue. Stick with basic, inexpensive cleaners like baking soda and vinegar. Or, choose natural cleaning products from trusted companies like Clorox and Seventh Generation.

Cleaning with Vinegar

Keep cleaning simple, non-toxic and environmentally safe by choosing white vinegar for most household cleaning jobs. White vinegar is a natural odor neutralizer, a disinfectant and a streak-free window cleaner. According to the Heinz Vinegar website, distilled white vinegar is mildly acidic. This makes it a natural choice for household cleaning and disinfecting.

Mix white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and use as an all-purpose cleaner for windows and counters. Substitute white vinegar for the rinse aide in the dish washer as an inexpensive alternative to get streak free dishes. Add white vinegar to the laundry instead of fabric softener for a non-toxic, non-allergenic way to soften and fluff laundry.

Cleaning with Baking Soda

Like vinegar, baking soda has many practical uses in the home. Baking soda absorbs odors and scours sinks, tubs and toilets as well as any conventional scouring powder. .

Sprinkle baking soda on carpets and rugs to absorb pet odors. Let the baking soda sit overnight, then vacuum in the morning for a fresher smelling room. Clean water bottles by sprinkling baking soda inside, filling with water and soaking overnight.

Natural Cleaning Products from Clorox

The Clorox company has introduced Green Works, a new line of natural cleaning products. These cleaning products feature plant based, biodegradable ingredients that are not tested on animals. They are gentler on the environment than conventional cleaners, but still offer the trusted brand name that many consumers look for. The Green Works line, which includes laundry detergent, dish detergent, spray cleaners and cleaning wipes, doesn’t leave a chemical residue and is packaged with recycled materials.

Cleaning Products from Seventh Generation

A leader in the natural products business, Seventh Generation has several cleaning products on the market. Dish detergent, laundry detergent and other cleaners are sold in recycled packaging and are available at many grocery and department stores.

Create a healthier home by cleaning with natural products. White vinegar and baking soda are safe, effective and inexpensive cleaners. Look for all-natural cleaning products from trusted manufacturers like Clorox and Seventh Generation for additional home cleaning needs.
