Natural and organic skincare has many benefits over using chemical based products. All natural skincare products are better for the body.

The advantage of using natural skincare is that there are no harsh chemical in the products applied to the skin. Human skin absorbs what is put onto it and because the average person doesn’t use natural products, their bodies absorb the multitude of chemicals into the skin. Using natural products keeps the skin from absorbing all those chemicals and helps it not only look its best but also be healthier.

Natural Skincare Products

While most of the chemicals found in cosmetics and skin care products are safe in small doses, the long term effects of ingesting and being exposed to these chemicals are still not fully understood. Why take the risk when it’s so easy to take care of skin naturally? The European Union has banned more than 1,110 ingredients used in personal products because of the negative health side effects, whereas the United States has only banned 10.

Natural Skincare Tips

There are many ways to take care of skin without relying on chemical filled products. One simple way to exfoliate skin without the harsh ingredients found in most store bought exfoliates is with a soft dry bristle brush.

Proper diet and exercise will also aid in healthy skin without the cost of buying specialty products. Drinking water is essential to beautiful and fresh looking skin.

Be careful when purchasing items that are labeled as “natural”. Just because that’s the marketing technique the company is choosing to go with doesn’t actually mean the products are true all natural skincare products. Read labels to see what the ingredients are and make sure the ingredients are organic. And avoid products with a fragrance as the chemicals used aren’t regulated and can often cause very serious allergic reactions.

Home products are also an excellent way to go. It’s the easiest way to know exactly what is going into the products being used and to ensure they are truly natural and organic. There are many websites online that offer tips and suggestions for making skincare products at home.

Avoid Ingredients Not Found in Natural Skincare Products

It can be difficult to know what’s safe and what isn’t. One substance to avoid that is commonly used in hair dye products is ammonia. This can cause respiratory difficulties and sever eye irritation. A better alternative would be to use an all natural hair dye such as henna which will dye the hair as well as care for it properly by conditioning hair. Another is lead acetate, also found in hair dyes and cleansers. This is a known neurotoxin. In some nail polish is toluene, which is a nervous-system toxin that can cause kidney and birth defects. A few others to avoid would be mercury, triclosan, parabens, nanoparticles, and aluminum chlorohydrate.

With knowledge and research taking care of skin naturally becomes very simple over time. Using all natural products will cause skin to look healthier in the long run. Since one major aspect of natural skincare is simplicity, it will also be much less time consuming to follow the all natural skincare path.
